Robert is a true professional. Always kind and giving. He will go the extra mile. This last year with Robert Skinner lining up my medication has kept me out of the hospitals since then.
I write to recommend to you Bob Skinner and his private case management service, Texas Living. As someone who cares for a loved one suffering from mental illness, I thought knowledge of his services might be beneficial.
For the past five years, Bob has been an integral staff member of the Well Community. He joined the team in the early days of the Well's creation and has played a strategic role in our development. However, at the end of February, Bob will be ending his part-time employment with the Well and focusing his attention on Texas Living.
Since 1982, Bob has been working in the mental health field, working for Dallas County Mental Health Mental Retardation (MHMR), Tarrant County MHMR, and Adapt of Texas. In 1989, Bob founded Texas Living, a case management and housing service for persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses. Texas Living's mission is to assist clients in achieving their highest level of independence. The philosophy has proved effective, with many of Texas Living's clients having been out of the hospital for over 12 years and functioning independently in their own residences. Bob has worked with hundreds of clients over the past 27 years.
Bob's departure will be a real loss to the Well. His caring heart, empowering style, and extensive experience make for a great advocate for those with severe mental illness. Therefore, I ask that you keep him in mind as you seek services for those in your care.
