For those of you living in Collin Co., you may have noticed there are no residential programs for adults with mental illnesses. If not living at home, most Collin Co. residents most go into Dallas or other communities to find a residence. A number of these residences are inadequate and most are just warehouses to generate the owner’s income.
Texas Living is seeking assistance from individuals or organizations that would be interested in developing a 50 bed facility in Collin County for the severe mentally ill population. I need both investors and partners willing to finance and develop this project.
This would be an upscale housing program that would house, feed, and case manage its tenants. We would oversee both their mental and medical health. Emphasis will be on training clients to take more control over their daily lives. We would teach them the skills necessary to move into a more independent setting. A case manager would then follow the client to this setting to assist them at that level. This would create space for new clients on their way for greater independence.
